This article is about what I have submitted to Scrum Alliance while applying for my CSP (Certified Scrum Professional) certificate, and I would like to use this opportunity to share about my Agile learning journey during my years in Titansoft. This has been a very different journey in my life for the past 3 years as it required lots of guts and commitment.
Curious to know what is coaching all about? We had a chat with Liangzhu to find out more.
1) Can you tell us more about what coaching is about? How do you get to know about coaching?
To me, coaching is about discovery, awareness and choice. It is a way of empowering people to find their own answers, encouraging and supporting them to make conscious choices.
Coaching is more like being a facilitator – asking questions, guiding through the discussion, and using of inquiry to explore further.
What coaching does is to help people to be aware of and to gain a better understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses. In other words, it helps people to grow by knowing themselves better.
Similar to the idea of continuous improvement in Agile Development, we believe that we constantly need to broaden our Agile knowledge. These 12 Agile blogs are the ones that I personally follow and read frequently (with no particular order). For me, the good point for reading other sources is that I can learn to be more adaptive – if I stumble in my current way of doing Agile, I can learn from other people’s experiences and try to adapt it into my own development.
In Titansoft, learning something new is pretty much the norm and very recently, I have taken up the role of the Team Coordinator for our HR team. This particular role contains plenty of learning! In essence, one should be prepared (especially the HR team as we rotate this role monthly).
What does it take to be a Team Coordinator?
Before any of us fully take on the role of a Team Coordinator, it is essential for the team to define the expectations of such a role as well as how the team can commit to assisting the team coordinator in accomplishing team goals. We had a brainstorming session and came up with the following expectations of a Team Coordinator and I would like to share some of our findings with you.
Have you seen the Titansoft 10 Year Anniversary Video? (If you have not, you can view it below!)
You can also read about the thoughts from our Project Manager of this video. But have you ever wondered what really goes on behind the production of such videos? How does a software house such videos and why do they deviate from their core business to produce awesome videos instead?
It is tiring and exhausting, but you won’t mind because you care
