Linda Rising, an Agile practitioner, became the catalyst for Titansoft’s transformation by instilling a growth mindset in us!

“People do not resist change; they resist being changed.” This quote, often shared by Titaners, originates from a renowned figure in the Agile community, Linda Rising!

Linda Rising, American Agile consultant and speaker

Linda Rising is an American Agile consultant and speaker. Even at the age of 80, she continues to maintain an Agile growth mindset, enjoying traveling abroad and is enthusiastic about new things. In 2014, Linda’s speech at the Agile Conference in Singapore injected a powerful boost into Titansoft, becoming our turning point towards a Learning Organization. In 2019, Titansoft warmly invited Linda to Taiwan to conduct an Agile Summit workshop, causing a whirlwind in the Agile community at that time! Looking back, Linda’s Agile concepts were rich in meaning, like scattered seeds sprouting, growing, and eventually bearing fruit over time. Every step of change, execution, and implementation nurtures these seeds.

Titansoft injects the Growth Mindset

Titansoft first met Linda at the 2014 Agile Conference in Singapore. Linda attended as a speaker and shared on “The Power of an Agile Mindset,” emphasizing the Growth Mindset – the ability to learn is like a muscle that grows, as long as you’re willing to exercise it, maintain a curious mind, and understand that effort leads to change. This thinking injected new energy into Titansoft and marked the beginning of us becoming a Learning Organization.

Titansoft does not judge job seekers based on their experience; attitude is our primary consideration, we believe that talent is developed through training. Our management has formulated the Dual-Stream Development, suitable for technical experts and professional managers. It combines professional skills and extensive knowledge of T-shaped and π-shaped talents, providing abundant resources to encourage employees to further their education. During the recruitment stage, Titansoft always provides interviewers with a clip of Linda’s speech Myths and Patterns of Organizational Change (the link here is provided due to its relevance in content, Titansoft does not share this link with job seekers), inviting them to share their impressions after watching it, hoping to unearth the potential of job seekers and find those who share the same Growth Mindset!

A Bond Formed Through Agile

In 2018, Titansoft collaborated with Taiwan Agile Association and iThome to strongly promote the inaugural Agile Summit, focusing on Agile as the main theme, and has become a sponsor partner for consecutive years. In 2019, the second Agile Summit, Titansoft pledged to emulate “Doing Agile”, and successfully invited Linda, a proponent of “Agile Thinking”, from the United States to Taiwan through various channels! She served as the keynote speaker, sharing the Agile Way of Small Experiments: “small steps, continuous learning, gradual improvement,” and conducted a workshop on “Myths and Patterns of Organizational Change,” exploring organizational change patterns and myths, how to skillfully solve problems from a psychological level, and embracing change with a positive attitude. In addition to enhancing communication, Titansoft also hopes to spread the practices of Agile enterprises in Taiwan to the outside world.

Titansoft’s General Manager, Tomas Li, smiled and said, “Promoting work is inherently difficult. Regarding Linda’s courses, we never aimed to make money; we simply aimed not to lose money. Master’s courses, apart from learning their wisdom and understanding perspectives, are also a form of spiritual growth and belief. Only with belief can we have relatively long-term companionship that serves as a constant reminder.”

Even though inviting Linda to Taiwan couldn’t yield ticket revenue, Titansoft believes that the investment will ultimately benefit “people.” As Tomas Li described, “Sometimes, a single sentence can deeply influence us for years. By observing how others do things and pondering why others succeed, as well as understanding the essence of agility.” Whether these learnings return to Titansoft or are shared with the community of Agile enthusiasts, Titansoft hopes to bring about change, even if it’s just a little bit, taking a small step now to leap into the future!

As the organization continues to expand, Titansoft never forgets how Linda inspired us. In 2022, Titansoft organized a heartfelt congratulatory plan, sending birthday cards to the United States to celebrate Linda’s 80th birthday. We’re honored to receive Linda’s warm response on social media!

Titansoft wishes Linda a happy birthday!

“I am 77 years old. You should never feel old, because the world needs you.”

We thank Linda for playing the role of an Agile evangelist for many years, advocating that “people’s abilities can change, and hard work can achieve everything,” conducting numerous small-scale experiments, and learning from failure. Over the years, Titaners have learned of many ideological collisions from Linda, embodying the spirit of “giving encouragement, immediate gratitude, small attempts, scientific perspectives, taking action, exploration, observation, learning, appreciating different perspectives…” these have transcended Titaners’ conventional work principles and become a philosophy that can be applied to life. Upholding the belief of a Growth Mindset, Titansoft will continue to move forward on the Agile path of “small steps, continuous learning, gradual improvement”!
